Robin Bristow completed a number of projects for Keystone Projects in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa – a 350 sq. m. house in Whale Rock and a 900 sq. m. house in Twin Rivers as well as concept drawings for a major property development at Baron’s View, two retirement homes in Glen Eden Village and two homes in Brackenridge.
He then decided to immigrate to Australia but had he not done so, we would have had no hesitation in continuing our working relationship with him. He interpreted our briefs very well and was able to deliver exactly what the client wanted. He had the required flair, design ability and technical knowledge to handle our projects and, unlike many architects, his priority is to deliver the brief by understanding the client and cooperating with them to achieve the desired result.

Robin worked on a variety of projects in our office, including individual house designs, residential apartment buildings and commercial work.

Robin has been a friend and our favourite architect for many years.
We first met him in Cape Town and he has completed many architectural projects for us since 1997. There were two homes for us at Erinvale Golf Estate in Somerset West in the Western Cape. Then he designed a home for our clients in Steenberg Golf Estate in Tokai in Cape Town. Both Erinvale and Steenberg have stringent architectural guidelines that must be adhered to strictly which Robin accomplished impeccably.
He then designed a home for us in Green Point in Cape Town on a subdivision of a property we owned. All the above projects were between 300 and 500 sq. m. each.
We decided to move to Plettenberg Bay and coincidently Robin also moved to Plett. At about the same time. He designed two cottages on our smallholding and then some time later he designed our main home of 450 sq. m. on the property.
During the time he was in Plettenberg Bay, until he decided to move to Australia, Robin designed two more large homes for clients of ours. He also designed our beach cottage up the coast at Kammabaai (timber construction), which is a delight to us. Just before he left for Australia Robin completed sketch plans for one proposed project for clients and a small townhouse project of three units for ourselves.
Robin is fantastically practical and works wonderfully well with clients, giving them what they want in his sound creative way. We miss him greatly for the invaluable input he always provided.
